Two-year Master's Degree

A Swedish master's degree consists of 120 credits (Swedish högskolepoäng). One semester of full time studies equals 30 credits and the academic year consists of two semesters, autumn and spring. This means the master's programme is four semesters, or two academic years. Hence, if you started the programme on the autumn semester of 2017 you will be expected to graduate in June of 2019. By then you should fulfil the reqiurements for a Master's Degree in Social Sciences.

In Case of Emergency: Possibility of One-year Master

If for some reason you are unable to complete the full two-year programme at Graduate School, you have the option of changing your programme track to a one-year master of 60 credits. This is an option that we provide to students who are unable to fulfill their programmes due to personal emergencies or any other extenuating circumstances. Learn more about this option.
